I like using watercolour in the same style as the Sumi-e and alla prima techniques, as an impromptu way to capture a moment.

The quicker you work, the more lively the painting turns out. But your strokes must be deliberate as there is no going back, so make each one count. All of your mistakes and imperfections will be on display but there is beauty and authenticity in this so there is no need to fear it.
