BIOGRAPHY

1962-1979: I was born in Siberia during the Cold War and the freezing winter. My father was an artist, working under the guise of a concrete engineer. My mother taught geometry and technical drawing at the Siberian State Transport University so we always had piles of Bristol paper that had only been used on one side. I quickly learned to repurpose the discarded paper into my canvases.
In my school years I spent summers on the Black Sea shores at my grandpa’s house, which he built with his own hands. Here I caught a lifelong love for the sea and nature.

1979-2000: I attended the medical academy, found my wife (or she found me), was blessed with a daughter, dedicated my medical career of 17 years to surgery and urology.

1998-2002: In the aftermath of the chaotic 90s in Russia, we decided to immigrate and, after an exhausting application process, moved to Vancouver, Canada. To provide for my family, I became a water damage restoration technician; I painted more walls than canvases during that time.
2006-2010: I quit and started to paint for more artistic purposes during my spare time between fruitless attempts to become a Canadian doctor.
2010-now: Research Assistant in Vancouver Prostate Centre helping humanity to find the cure for cancer.
These days, my creative endeavors consist of commissions, gifts for friends, and pebble carving.
